Every era in sports has it's collection of stars. Individuals which lead their leagues year after year. Now, more than ever, we are at the end of an era across many sports. Tiger Woods has officially announced he will play in the 2022 Masters at Augusta after missing time due to a potentially career-ending injury. Tom Brady has come out of retirement for another year in Tampa Bay. LeBron James (MJ is the goat of basketball but this is clearly Lebron's era) is in danger of missing the NBA playoffs. Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are struggling to find form on their new teams and are approaching a possible last run in World Cup this year. Roger Federer has missed roughly a year due to surgery and his window for dominance has closed as of late. Serena Williams has taken a step back in the past year on the women's side of tennis, as well.
Now more than ever before, a wave of GOATS are near their exit. Appreciate them while you have them. Whether its to love or hate, their absence will be felt for years to come while we await the next line of industry leaders.
